Richmond Youth Foundation's 2nd Annual Benefit Brunch

Embracing Diversity, Elevating Philanthropy

The Richmond Youth Foundation (RYF) has been in the community for three years. RYF is a group of highly motivated youngsters who aim to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Richmond. Our goal is to drive and spread the concept of philanthropy to all Richmond youth.

With this in mind, we created the RYF Benefit Brunch in which the ultimate objective is to connect youth with philanthropic community leaders while increasing the RYF Endowment Fund which in turn supports local projects. Last year's inaugural Benefit Brunch brought together nearly 150 guests who enjoyed a morning of learning, celebration and inspiration.

As Richmond is more diverse than people think, especially in terms of community leadership, the theme of RYF's 2nd Annual Benefit Brunch is "Embracing Diversity, Elevating Philanthropy."

The brunch is on Saturday, May 29 from 11 AM - 2 PM at the Hilton Vancouver Airport Hotel (5911 Minoru Blvd.). The cost for youth (25 and younger) to attend is $25 and the cost for adults (26+) to attend is $50.

Recently, Richmond Youth Foundation Chairperson Martin Hui was featured in the Richmond Review's "Top 30 under 30"! The article describes Martin's work with the Richmond Youth Foundation, his founding of RichCity Idol with his friend Natasha Jung in 2004, as well other facts and tidbits of information.

Special thanks go to Martin van den Hemel of the Richmond Review for such a great writeup and Andrew Szeto for the amazing photo!

The article can be viewed on the Richmond Review website.

Martin, your work with the organization and in the community is truly inspiring and very meaningful!

noun, Richmond, Youth, Foundation.

1. to offer young leaders financial help to make the community a better place
2. to strive to promote youth philanthropy
3. to present a fun way to develop the RYF endowment fund

On January 29th, the Richmond Youth Foundation took Gossip Night Club by storm as we hosted our annual club fundraiser. All our RYF members promoted, prepared and participated in this event to ensure a good turn out. Tickets were sold rapidly and all proceeds went towards the RYF endowment fund. The party was complete with flashing lights, great music, and people dressed to impress as DJ Pluskratch got everyone hyped up with the latest tunes, making sure everybody danced the night away.  The party-goers were able to have a great time and help support a great cause at the same time! This was truly a night of accomplishment and success!

Thank you to all who came out and supported Richmond Youth Foundation.
We hope to see you all for next year’s club fundraiser; it’ll be bigger and better, for sure!

LIKE TO PARTY? LIKE TO SUPPORT YOUR COMMUNITY'S YOUTH? THEN WE INVITE ALL OF YOU TO COME OUT TO SUPPORT US AGAIN IN THIS YEAR'S RICHMOND YOUTH FOUNDATION (RYF) CLUB FUNDRAISER!

The RYF offers young leaders financial help and other support so that they can make the community a better place. RYF strives to promote youth philanthropy and engagement and best of all, 100% of the money raised will go towards the RYF endowment fund! Growing the endowment fund enables us to grant more money to young people in the community with great ideas.

This year we've picked one of the hottest venues in Vancouver to host our annual club fundraiser, Gossip Nightclub. With DJ Pluskratch and guests playing Hip Hop and House all night long, you're guaranteed a good time. Tickets are selling for $15 each, with a limited quantity available.

WHY NOT PARTY AND FEEL GOOD ABOUT IT?

DRESS TO IMPRESS & WE'LL SEE YOU THERE!

To encourage students to put their dreams into action, RYF presented a workshop titled "Building a Case, Building Support, and Building Relationship" to over 40 students at the annual Richmond Student Leadership Conference. The workshop presenters, Monique Wong and Lynn Wei, demonstrated to students the various methods to identify their passions, plan an initiative to support their cause, and find community resources to realize the plan.

If you are interested in realizing your plan, too, make sure you check back later in the year for information about our upcoming Grant Cycle!

The Fall Recruiting Cycle for Executive Council and General Committee is now closed. We are reviewing all applications, and screened applicants have been invited to our upcoming interview where we can get to know our applicants better!

Positions for the Benefit Brunch Committee and Zenith Conference will remain open. For more information, please visit Positions Available.
